Ingredients
  

  • 1 ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 Large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp red food coloring
  • cup½ powdered sugar (for rolling)

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or silicone mat.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  • Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, vanilla, and red food coloring; mix until combined.
  • Fold in flour mixture until a soft dough forms. Chill dough 20–30 min if desired.
  • Scoop dough into 1–1.5 inch balls and roll in powdered sugar.
  • Place cookies 2 inches apart on baking sheet. Bake 10–12 min until edges are set but centers are soft.
  • Cool 5 min on sheet, then transfer to a wire rack.
